Yikes, today is December 19 and I have almost nothing done for Christmas! My yearly family letter (not written), a fabulous array of thoughtful gifts (not even thought about-much less bought or wrapped), goodie plates (not even made yet), family photo (ummmmm). While the photos, gifts, letters, and treats are all wonderful, they only represent what Jesus Christ Himself gave each one of us. He condescended to this world on our behalf. Perfection, pure and brilliant, twinkled into this bleak and abysmal world to wrap around us and lift our imperfections away. He gave us an eternal gift, will we accept it? Do we read His letters to us daily and devour them like the treats they are? At this joyous season, let us remember why we celebrate and what the JOY is all about.

I loved your post... so perfectly said and so very true. Thanks for sharing your thoughts... it is posts like those that renew my faith in others, reminds me of all the good and wonderful people throughout this world, that have such faith - uplifts and strengthens me!
